Timothy Wiseman Again Named All-America Scholar

Recent BSU grad continues to add to his list of accomplishments
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Timothy Wiseman, who completed his career with the Ball State men's golf program this spring, was named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar for the second straight year by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Wiseman graduated in May with a 3.67 GPA and a bachelor's degree in finance. The Corydon, Indiana, product was a three-time Academic All-MAC selection and Ball State's male recipient of the 2019 MAC Medal of Excellence award.

On the course, Wiseman was a second-team All-MAC selection as a senior after leading the Cardinals with a career-best 73.00 scoring average.Â

The 2018 U.S. Open qualifier was selected as the Earl Yestingsmeier Sportsmanship Award winner by his peers at this spring's MAC Championships. He finished his career with a 74.72 stroke average to rank just outside the top five marks in program history.

To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically and meet the following criteria: compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average better than 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career GPA of at least 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and in good standing at his college or university.

Ball State has now had 54 Scholar All-America selections since the award's inception in 1982, including 17 over the past eight years.
