Five Women’s Tennis Players Receive Academic All-MAC Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ball State seniors Isabelle Dohanics, Peyton Gollhofer and Sarah Swiderski along with junior Rebecca Herrington and sophomore Victoria Sec have been named to the 2019 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team, as announced by the league office. This is the third time for Dohanics and the first for the remaining four recipients.
Dohanics owns a 3.457 GPA in biology. She posted one of the best marks on the team in singles play with a 20-5 overall record, including 15-2 in dual action. She finished conference play with an unblemished 7-0 record.
Gollhofer owns a 3.281 GPA in exercise science. She earned her third All-MAC award after being named to second team this year. Gollhofer lost only one conference singles match this season and posted one of the highest dual action marks on the team with a 15-2 ledger.
Swiderski played primarily at the No. 2 singles position this year. She ended the semester with a 3.374 GPA as a communications major. Swiderski found much success in doubles action alongside fellow recipient Victoria Sec. The twosome combined for a 14-3 overall record and finished with a 2-1 record in conference play. Sec owns a 3.51 GPA in nursing.
Rounding out the five honorees is Herrington. The Ontario, Canada, native owns a 3.229 GPA while majoring in political science. Herrington registered an impressive 17-2 singles mark in dual action and went undefeated in MAC competition, posting a 7-0 record.
