Balanced Attack, Dominant Defense Result in 6-0 Win Over Indiana State

MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State University soccer team was dominant from the opening whistle as the Cardinals combined to score six goals in a 6-0 rout of Indiana State Sunday afternoon at Briner Sports Complex.Â
The win was the third of the spring season for the Cardinals.Â
Ball State was balanced on offense as several Cardinals contributed to the six goals. Julia Elvbo initiated the attack early as she assisted on the first-two goals to Kennedy Metzger and Sam Kambol. Kambol also stayed involed as she scored goal number three on assists from Emily Simmons and newcomer Lizzie Philibin. Philibin and Kambol also assisted on the next goal which was scored by Jenna Dombrowski.Â
Dombrowski then took over as she scored the next goal, then joined with Kambol to set up Claudia Como for the sixth and final goal of the day.
Alex DeRuvo played a strong game in goal for Ball State as she finished her third shutout of the spring.Â
Ball State will close its spring slate against Indiana Tech on Saturday in conjunction with the alumni game. The time will be announced as it becomes available.Â
