"We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Estel to our Ball State women's basketball program," Sallee said. "When I saw her in Belarus last summer, I instantly knew this was a young lady we had to get. She is a dynamic playmaker and an intense competitor. I believe she will have a major impact on our program both offensively and defensively, and I cannot wait until she hits the floor in a Cardinal uniform."
Puiggros comes from the same Segle Club that produced fellow BSU signee Anna Gamarra. In 2018-19, Puiggros played 20.4 minutes for the Segle XXI Barcelona squad. She averaged9.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game.
Puiggros was chosen to play in the FIBA U17 Women's World Cup, recording her tournament high with 14 points and four assists against Japan. She also played for Spain's 3-on-3 team last August in the Summer Youth Olympic Games. She helped her team to a 10th-place finish in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Rated as a four-star recruit, Puiggros is considered the 14th best European prospect in the class of 2019 according to GoGlobal Recruiting.
