Men's Tennis Grabs Two Wins Over Taylor
March 09, 2019 | Men's Tennis
MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team (7-7) continued its winning ways this weekend with a pair of 7-0 wins over Taylor University Saturday afternoon at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
The day started off again with strong doubles play over the Trojans. Today the Cardinals played an eight game proset in doubles competition instead of six. In both matches, Ball State changed things up on the top court as Marko Guzina paired up with teammate Tom Carney instead of his normal doubles partner, twin brother Nemanja. The twosome won 8-2 in the first match and then didn't give up a game in the second competition.
Today's singles lineups didn't waste any time winning all 12 matches in straight sets. Muncie native, Khamasi Muhiga did not give up a game to Seth Graves at position six and Thibault De Negri followed with a 6-0, 6-0 victory on court two against Andre Danelli.
The Ball State men's tennis team hosts Eastern Illinois Sunday afternoon at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. After Sunday's non-conference match, the Cardinals will open Mid-American Conference action when it hosts Western Michigan University Friday afternoon at 1 p.m.
