TIME FOR TIP-OFF
- Saturday's game against Eastern Michigan will mark the 80th time in program history the two schools have met with the Eagles leading the all-time series, 41-38.Â
- The Cardinals lost their first meeting against the Eagles by a slim margin, 53-56, on Feb. 16 in Ypsilanti, Mich.
- Head coach Brady Sallee holds an overall record of 10-5 against Eastern Michigan from 2012-13 to present.
- Ball State snapped a 10-game losing streak with its 67-64 victory at Northern Illinois. Freshman forward Thelma Dis Agustsdottir nailed a 3-pointer with 1.6 seconds left to seal the win for the Cardinals.
- Eastern Michigan lost a heartbreaker at home Wednesday, falling 70-67 in double overtime to Toledo.
- Today's game is senior day, the Cardinals will be recognizing their one senior, guard Nakeya Penny. It also marks the last contest of the Mid-American Conference regular season.
- If the tournament were to start today, the Cardinals would be the 11th seed and would play at No. 6 Kent State. A lot of things could happen though Saturday, Ball State could also possibly play at Northern Illinois and/or at Toledo. So stay tuned after the game and on twitter where we will release where the Cardinals will be Monday for the first round.
ABOUT EASTERN MICHIGAN
- Eastern Michigan will also be on the road Monday, March 11, for the first round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament. And much like the Cardinals, the Eagles destination is yet to be determined. An EMU win will make them the No. 9 seed and the Eagles will travel to No. 8 Akron. If EMU loses and WMU loses, EMU remains No. 9 and if the Eagles lose and WMU wins, EMU drops to the No. 10 seed and will play at NIU.
- EMU has three players averaging in double figures, Danielle Minott (13.4 ppg), Corrione Cardwell (13.4 ppg) and Courtnie Lewis (11.1 ppg).Â
- Eastern Michigan's head coach is Fred Castro who is in his third season at the helm of the Eagles.
- Ball State is 30-15 against Michigan schools during head coach Brady Sallee's seven seasons after beating Detroit Mercy (twice), Western Michigan (11 times), Eastern Michigan (10 times), Central Michigan (five times) and Oakland University (twice).
