The National Academic Squad honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year. This year, 940 student-athletes from 76 Division I institutions earned recognition.
The Ball State student-athletes named to the team were Beth Barnes, Grace Bolesta, Alex Conrad, Anya Eicher, Abby Ferenczy, Sierra Jefferson, Haley Jolly, Jenna McKune, Alison McMullen, Allison Parker, Rachel Pereira, Arantxa Rosainz Caloca, Callie Rumbaugh, Michelle Shampton and Audrey Tabor.
Barnes, Eicher, Jefferson, McKune, McMullen, Parker, Pereira and Shampton have been named to the National Academic Squad two years in a row.
As a team, Ball State had a GPA of 3.612 in the fall semester and boasts a 3.516 overall mark.
Individually, 17 different players earned at least a 3.0 GPA during the fall semester, with McMullen leading the team with a perfect 4.0.
