- Ball State is the No. 11 seed in the 2019 Mid-American Conference Tournament and will play at No. 6 Toledo for the first round play in game to Cleveland, Ohio. The last time the Cardinals faced the Rockets in the MAC Tournament was in the quarterfinals in Cleveland in 2009-10. Toledo won that game, 67-56.Â
- Toledo holds a 6-0 advantage of games played in the Mid-American Conference Tournament against Ball State.
- This marks the 29th appearance in the Mid-American Conference Tournament in program history. Ball State has advanced to Cleveland 17 out the past 19 seasons. The Cardinals are 20-27 all-time in MAC Tournament play and have advanced to the MAC Tourney finals on five occasions.
- The Cardinals have not played a first round MAC Tournament game since the 2013-14 season. That year Ball State was the No. 5 seed and defeated No. 12 Kent State at home to advance to Cleveland by a score of 73-38. Ball State would then knock off No. 9 NIU, No. 4 Buffalo and No. 1 Bowling Green before falling in the championship 79-68 to Akron.
- Ball State is coming off of a 67-57 loss to Eastern Michigan at home Saturday. The Cardinals led for three quarters until EMU went on a 16-6 run in the final five minutes of action to comeback and take the victory from BSU.
- The Rockets and the Cardinals will square off for the third time this year and 82nd time overall. Toledo leads the all-time series record, 56-25.
-Statistically they say it is hard to beat a team three times in one season so the Cardinals have that on their side. Toledo swept this year's series after defeating the Cardinals in Toledo by a score of 65-58 and then in Worthen Arena, 63-62.Â
- Ball State and Toledo first meeting ever was in 1980-81, that year the Cardinals defeated the Rockets by a score of 63-47.

- It has been 10 years since that historic season when the Cardinals defeated Bowling Green for the Mid-American Conference Tournament crown and the program's first-ever automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.Â
- In 30 years of the tournament, the top seed has won the title 21 times. In 2016, the Buffalo Bulls became the highest seed (#8) to ever advance to the tournament championship game and the highest seed to ever win the title. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds have met 15 times in the championship game, with top seed winning 13 times.
- The last time Ball State was the 11th seed in the Mid-American Conference Tournament was in 2011. That year the Cardinals fell to No. 6 Buffalo, 82-73.
- A Cardinal win would advance Ball State to Cleveland for the seventh-straight season under the direction of head coach Brady Sallee.Â
- The Cardinals would meet No. 3 seed Miami in the quarterfinals. Ball State lost its lone meeting with the RedHawks in a tight game in Oxford. The last time Ball State faced Miami in the tournament was in 2009. The Cardinals defeated the RedHawks that season in the quarterfinals, 76-51.
