Ball State Football Adds Two More to the Class of 2019
February 06, 2019 | Football
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State football team, under the direction of fourth-year coach Mike Neu, welcomed 17 student-athletes during the early signing period in December and added to the class with two more newcomers today – Chandler Crite and Walter Fletcher.
Crite is a defensive back from Lebanon, Tennessee. A two-time all-conference selection, he helped Lebanon High post an 8-3 record this past fall and was named the 2018 Wilson County Player of the Year. The 2-star recruit via 247Sports also played on the offensive side of the ball as the Blue Devils' quarterback.
Fletcher will join the squad this summer as a graduate transfer from Division II Edinboro University in Pennsylvania. In 2017, the running back from Columbia, Maryland, established a new program single season rushing record with 1,740 yards. He ranked fifth nationally in rushing yards per game last fall (147.6) and was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Offensive Player of the Year. Fletcher became Edinboro's first-ever player to notch 100 yards rushing and receiving in the same game when he accomplished that feat in a 31-24 win over Gannon in September.

Ball State is scheduled to hold its first spring practice on Thursday, March 14, with the annual Spring Game slated for Saturday, April 13.
