February 17, 2019 | Men's Tennis
EVANSTON, Ill. - The Ball State University men's tennis team (2-4) was swept, 7-0, by Big Ten foe Northwestern (1-5) Sunday afternoon in the Combe Tennis Center.
The Cardinals play one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the Mid-American Conference, having already faced Indiana, Michigan State, and Notre Dame this season.
In doubles play, Chris Adams alongside teammate Conner Andersen played a close match against Northwesterns' Trice Pickens and Antonioni Fasano. The score would be tied at four games apiece before the match would go unfinished. The Wildcats claimed victories at positions one and two to take the early 1-0 lead heading into singles action.
Northwestern earned straight set victories on all six courts from the Cardinals in singles play and clinched the match at position four as Thibault De Negri fell to Northwesterns' Chris Ephron, 6-2, 6-2.
The Ball State men's tennis team will continue road action when it plays at Cleveland State Friday night. First serve is at 5 p.m.
