Kyle Mallers Again Tabbed MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week

Junior finance major scored a career-high 22 points in win over Western Michigan
MUNCIE, Ind. -- For the second time this season, Ball State basketball player Kyle Mallers has been named the Mid-American Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Week.
A finance major from Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mallers owns a 3.598 GPA. He also took home the weekly honor once last season when he was an Academic All-MAC and MAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete choice.
Mallers scored a career-high 22 points and made a career-best six 3-pointers in Ball State's 79-59 victory Saturday over Western Michigan. He also grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds for his third career double-double.
Mallers connected on 7-of-11 from the floor, including 6-of-10 from 3-point range. He scored 14 of his points and hit four of his 3's in the second half as the Cardinals pulled away after leading by one at the break.
Teammate Tayler Persons was named the MAC West Division Player of the Week two days ago for his role in Ball State's victories last week over WMU and Northern Illinois.
The Cardinals have been off since the Western Michigan game and will return to action Saturday with a 2 p.m. tipoff against Akron at Worthen Arena. The game will air on ESPN3.
