Soccer Places 13 on Academic All-MAC Team

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Mid-American Conference announced Wednesday the 2019 Women's Soccer Academic All-MAC Team. Out of 127 student-athletes named to this year's squad, 13 played for Ball State University.
Ten Cardinals were first time honorees while Julia Elvbo, Sam Kambol and Yela Ziswiler were honored for the third time. The senior trio won the award every year eligible.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.

"What an amazing testament to our team's hard work on and off the field," said head coach Josh Rife. "They truly personify student-athlete. It can be challenging to balance both the academics and athletics, but they have excelled at both."
Toledo led the MAC with 16 student-athletes on the team, while Eastern Michigan followed close behind with 15 honorees. Ball State had the third most student-athletes recognized.The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics.
