Ball State Wide Receiver Riley Miller Selected to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team
November 14, 2019 | Football
MUNCIE, Ind. – The best on the field and in the classroom are recognized every year by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) with the organization's Academic All-District and Academic All-America programs. Ball State football senior Riley Miller will have a chance to earn Academic All-America honors after it was announced that he was named to the Academic All-District first team today.
Miller, local product out of Yorktown, Indiana, has started 30 consecutive games at wide receiver for the Cardinals entering Saturday's game against Central Michigan. He leads the team with five touchdown receptions this year, including two in the 52-14 thumping of Toledo on Oct. 19. He ranks ninth in the Mid-American Conference in receiving yards per game (53.4) and logged his fourth career 100-yard receiving against Fordham on Sept. 7.
In the classroom, Miller carries a 3.648 GPA in exercise science. He has earned a spot on the Dean's List six times and twice been named to the Academic All-MAC squad. He is expected to graduate this coming May.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First- and second-team (if applicable) Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December. Miller is the first Cardinal to earn Academic All-District accolades since 2013 (tight end Zane Fakes).
