Long-Snapper Caden Britton Named as Nominee for Allstate AFCA Good Works Team

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State long-snapper Caden Britton, a redshirt senior from New Albany, Ohio, has been named as 162 nominees for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, as announced today by Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).
Britton returns to the Cardinals for his fifth college season in 2026, after making every snap on field goal tries, PATs and punts throughout the entire Ball State season in 2025. His nomination as Ball State's representative for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and the Wuerffel Trophy, comes as part of a "three-teammate partnership" in which Britton has teamed with fellow specialists Carson Holmer and Cole Stumbaugh while both raising money for cancer research and providing community service through Muncie and its surrounding areas.
The three of them -- Britton the long-snapper, Holmer the placekicker and Stumbaugh a holder and punter -- form a tight-knit speciality unit that shared a Ball State Chirpies Award last spring as the "Heart of the Cardinal."
Britton spearheaded Ball State's "Cards Kick Cancer" initiative in 2025 to raise money to fight pediatric cancer. The Cardinals raised nearly $3,000 by accepting pledges for every extra point or field goal they scored as a kicking unit. The initiative was inspired by Britton, whose younger brother, Behren, is a survivor of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Aside from the "Cards Kick Cancer" initiative, Britton, Holmer and Stumbaugh participate with Ball State's Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) on various community initiatives, and on their own they combined to provide community services throughout Muncie. Beginning with show-shoveling services offered during winter months, the trio made themselves available for other odd jobs, including moving and setup for a new bakery in nearby Yorktown. They have grown a small business doing odd jobs and, for their efforts, they earned the Heart of the Cardinal Award at Ball State SportsLink's 2026 Chirpies Awards Show, by effectively and enthusiastically representing the heart of a Cardinal.
