Elvbo Named MAC Offensive Player of the Week

MUNCIE, Ind. – After leading the Ball State University soccer team to a pair of victories last weekend, senior Julia Elvbo has been name Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Elvbo was heavily involved in Ball State's 2-0 weekend with the game-winning goal in double overtime at Buffalo, and by assisting on the game winner at Akron. On Sunday, the senior lifted the Cardinals over the Bulls by scoring the game winner in 2OT with less than two minutes remaining. She volleyed a cross from teammate Sam Kambol to beat the keeper and seal the victory in the 109th minute.
Just two days earlier, Elvbo fed an assist to Tatiana Mason who scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win at Akron. Elvbo's play currently has the Cardinals on a three-game winning streak. For the week, Elvbo finished with one goal and one assist on five shots and three shots on goal.
Elvbo and the Cardinals are back in action Thursday with a home match against Northern Illinois. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. ET.
