Women’s Golf in Contention at Challenging Silver Lake

Liz Kim sits tied for eighth to pace Cardinals
STOW, Ohio -- There's no other way to say it; Silver Lake Country Club was a bully for 36 holes Monday.
A tight course with some long holes played even trickier because of fast green speeds that made putting an adventure at times. The average individual round score for the day was a shade higher than 82.
Ball State withstood enough blows to stay in contention at the Preview at Silver Lake. The Cardinals will enter Tuesday's final round six shots behind host Akron in their bid for a second tournament win this fall. They currently share third place and are one of four teams within eight shots of the Zips' lead.
Tiegan Taylor's 79 was Ball State's best in the morning round, while Liz Kim and Manon Tounalom led the way with scores of 75 in the afternoon.
Kim is BSU's top player on the leaderboard in a tie for eighth with a two-round total of 155 (+11), seven off the pace set by Kent State's Sitanun Jonglikit. Tounalom (+12) is tied for 11th.
The third and final round will be played Tuesday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
