Women’s Tennis Completes Day Two Of Martha Thorn Invite

MORGANTOWN, Va. - The Ball State women's tennis team completed its second day of action at the Martha Thorn Invite Saturday afternoon at West Virginia University.
The Cardinals had another successful day of action against Navy beating the Midshipmen in singles by a score of 4-1. True freshmen Emma Peeler and Amy Kaplan took down their respective opponents in straight sets. Junior Victoria Sec only gave up one game in two sets to Navy's Tina Li, 6-0, 6-1. Junior Rebecca Herrington swept Irene Norman, 6-0, 6-0. Ball State also defeated Navy in its opening day sweeping all three singles matches on Friday.
In doubles action, Livia Lukacs paired up with Herrington for a 7-6 victory over Delaware's Jojo Bach and Caragh Courtney. Sec and Jessica Braun also defeated Delaware 6-1.
Ball State played two doubles matches against Navy today, the Cardinals duo of Kaplan and Peeler won their match over Samantha Choi and Li, 6-4.
The Ball State women's tennis team will close fall action at the Martha Thorn Invite on Sunday.
