Women’s Tennis Earns ITA Academic Team Honors for the 26th Time in Program History

MUNCIE, Ind. - For the 26th time in 30 seasons, the Ball State women's tennis team was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team, after earning a 3.5 on Ball State's 4.0 scale.
In addition, seven members of the squad received individual ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades - Asia Ting Fontana (3.7), Sarah Shahbaz (3.8), Noa Kosman (3.8), Anya Tkachyk (3.9), Jemima Williams-Phillips (3.9111), Alana Bristow (3.933) and Isabel Tanjuatco (3.9). This marks the third time Shahbaz and Tanjuatco have received the award while Williams-Phillips along with Bristow have earned the honor twice.
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association ("ITA") is proud to announce the 2026 Division I Women's ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams. Academia is an integral aspect of the college tennis experience and adds to the unique student-athlete experience found on college campuses across the nation.
Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2026, 1,501 Division I Women's student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, and 231 Women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
