Gollhofer's Singles Win Not Enough In 6-1 Loss At Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Senior Peyton Gollhofer highlighted today's match with a straight set victory in singles play at Louisville. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough for the Cardinals as Ball State fell to Louisville by a score of 6-1 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
UofL took the early 1-0 lead over BSU after winning on courts one and three in doubles action. The Ball State doubles tandem of Victoria Sec and Sarah Swiderski pulled through for a victory though upsetting Louisville's No. 2 twosome of Dina Chaika and Nikolina Jovi, 6-3.
Gollhofer was the BSU player to win in singles action, defeating Diana Wong at position four, 6-4, 6-3. With the win, Gollhofer improves to 2-0 on the season. At the No. 5 position, Isabelle Dohanics gave Louisville's Chloe Hamlin a run for her money, taking Hamlin to a three set thriller. Dohanics took the first set 6-4 but then lost 7-5, 8-6.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues spring play in Louisville, when if faces Northern Kentucky Saturday at noon in the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
