Game Notes
- Ball State is coming off of its first Mid-American Conference win Wednesday when the Cardinals defeated Bowling Green, 77-70, on their third annual Field Trip Day. Freshman forward Thelma Dis Agustsdottir recorded a career high 23 points while shooting 80 percent (8-of-10) from the field.
- Ohio comes to Ball State Saturday with its first loss of the season. Prior to today's contest, the Bobcats had been 12-0 in 2018-19. The Bobcats suffered their first loss at home in MAC action against MAC West DivIsion leader Central Michigan, by a score of 88-70.
- Saturday's game against Ohio will mark the 62nd time in program history the two schools have met with the Bobcats leading the all-time series record, 34-27. Last season, Ohio defeated Ball State, 80-76, on Feb. 3 in Athens. The Bobcats have won five-straight over the Cardinals heading into today's contest.
-From 1998-2006 the Cardinals held a nine-game win streak over Ohio. The last time Ball State defeated Ohio was during Brady Sallee's first two seasons at the helm of the Cardinals. Ball State defeated Ohio on Jan. 26, 2013 in Worthen Arena, 77-46 and in Athens on Jan. 18, 2014 by a score of 79-63.
- Freshman forward Thelma Dis Agustsdottir who is from Keflavik, Iceland sure warmed things up in Worthen Arena Wednesday in the Cardinals 77-70 victory over Bowling Green. Agustsdottir registered a career high 23 points on 80 percent (8-of-10) shooting from the floor. Sophomore forward Oshlynn Brown had her fourth double-double of the season after scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. The inside duo combined for 45 points.Â
- Today's game is a double-header between the Ball State men's and women's basketball teams versus the Ohio men's and women's basketball programs. This marks the first time since the 2014-15 season that the men's and women's basketball teams have hosted the same opponent on the same day in Worthen Arena. The last time was on Feb. 14, 2015 when Ball State hosted Bowling Green's two programs.
- The Ball State women's basketball team has played a total of 10 times on Jan. 12. The last time the Cardinals played on this date was in 2013-14 which resulted in a 53-31 win at home against Kent State.
- Although Ball State lost its first Mid-American Conference game, that has never set the tone for league action under seventh year head coach Brady Sallee. In the last six seasons, Ball State has never started MAC action with an 0-2 record. The Cardinals own a 5-1 ledger in their second league game under Sallee.

- Ohio was only one of three undefeated teams at the start of this week's play. The Bobcats were handed their first loss on Wedensday night at home after Central Michigan defeated the Bobcats by a score of 88-70 in University Arena. Prior to that game, Ohio was coming off of a 74-71 overtime win at Buffalo.
- Bob Boldon is in his sixth season at the helm of the Bobcats. Boldon has an overall record of 112-59 (.654) at Ohio. Boldon has led the Bobcats to back-to-back Mid-American Conference regular season titles both in 2015 and 2016. Ohio won the MAC Tourney crown in 2015 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.
- Currently Ohio has five players averaging double figures, Cierra Hooks (16.8 ppg), Gabby Burris (15.5 ppg), Dominique Doseck (13.0 ppg), Amani Burke (12.8 ppg) and Erica Johnson (11.8 ppg). Burris leads the way defensively averaging 5.8 rebounds per contest.
