Women’s Golf Finishes Eighth at Diane Thomason Invitational

Liz Kim closes with 75, leads Cardinals with 27th-place finish
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Liz Kim's 75 led the Ball State women's golf team Sunday in the final round of Iowa's Diane Thomason Invitational.
The Cardinals finished the day where they started it, in eighth place, after a final-round 326 brought their 54-hole total to 978.
The host Hawkeyes cruised to the tournament championship with a score of 898, finishing 18 shots clear of North Dakota State. Taylor McCorkle of NDSU and Shawn Rennegarbe of Iowa shared medalist honors at 5 over par.
Kim led Ball State in 27th place, climbing 14 spots up the leaderboard in the final round. Emily Knouff, who shot 78 on Sunday, tied for 32nd. The Cardinals played with four golfers this weekend after Dylann Armstrong withdrew because of injury in the first round.
Ball State will continue its fall schedule Oct. 14-15 with the Fall Preview just down the road at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville.
