Timothy Wiseman jumps 17 spots to lead Cardinals on day two in Iowa
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Timothy Wiseman fired a 1-under-par 71 Monday in round two of the Golfweek Conference Challenge, but the Ball State men's golf team dropped three places on the leaderboard.
The Cardinals posted a score of 297 to fall to 12th place at 14 over par with one round left to play on the Donald Ross Course at Cedar Rapids Country Club.
Arkansas State (-23) extended its overnight lead and will take a 12-shot advantage into the final round. Iowa (-11) is second in the 16-team field.
Wiseman moved up 17 spots into a tie for 26th on the individual leaderboard. In addition to his 71, the Cardinals also counted a pair of 75's from CJ Jones and Jack Cunningham along with a 76 from Yianni Kostouros.
Keegan Bronnenberg, who entered the day three shots off the lead after an opening 69, didn't find the same rhythm on day two. A 77 dropped him back into a tie for 32nd.
Julien Sale of Arkansas State holds the individual lead at 8 under par, three shots in front of a trio of pursuers.
