USTFCCCA Honors Regan Lewis and Track & Field Program for Academic Success

MUNCIE, Ind.- - Ball State high jumper Regan Lewis picked up one more award for her stellar junior campaign Thursday (July 26), being named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Individual Team.

Lewis, a native of Greenfield, Indiana, qualified for USTFCCCA All-Academic Individual Team honors for both the 2018 indoor and outdoor seasons as a nursing major with a 3.79 cumulative grade point average.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and have met one of the following athletic standards:

During the outdoor season, Lewis earned All-America Second Team honors after placing 10th in the high jump at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. She also finished eighth in the high jump at the NCAA East Preliminary Outdoor Championships.

In addition to Lewis' individual honor, Ball State was one of 220 women's programs to capture USTFCCCA All-Academic Team accolades. The Cardinals' 3.47 team GPA ranked third among programs from the state of Indiana, trailing only IUPUI (3.65) and Butler (3.64). Ball State also tied with Toledo for the highest GPA among Mid-American Conference women's programs.Â

- For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
