
Softball Coach Megan Ciolli Bartlett Signs Contract Extension

MUNCIE, Ind. - - Ball State University has extended the contract of head softball coach Megan Ciolli Bartlett through the 2021 season, director of intercollegiate athletics Beth Goetz announced.

"I am thrilled to continue on at the helm of the Ball State softball program," Bartlett said. "What we are building here is special, and my staff and I are exceedingly proud of it. I would like to thank Beth Goetz and Dr. Karin Lee for their commitment and belief in our vision for the program. The future is bright for Cardinals softball."

Bartlett recently completed her third season at Ball State, leading the program to 37 wins, which is the fourth-highest win total in the 44-year history of the program.Â

"Megan and her staff have done an excellent job keeping Ball State softball in the forefront of the Mid-American Conference, and they have the program poised for success on a national level," Goetz said. "I am excited about Megan's vision for the program and appreciate the way she and her staff lead, teach and develop our student-athletes."

The Cardinals finished the 2018 season with a 37-19 record and shared the MAC West Division championship with a 16-7 league mark. Ball State placed three student-athletes on the All-MAC First Team and earned 10 MAC West Division weekly honors over the course of the season.

In her first three seasons at Ball State, Bartlett has amassed an 89-79 (38-33 MAC) record. She has coached three players to NFCA All-Great Lakes Region accolades and First Team All-MAC honors, while mentoring four MAC All-Freshman Team selections. In the classroom, Bartlett's players have earned Academic All-MAC recognition 19 times.
