Track & Field Heads to Marian for Knight Open

MUNCIE, Ind. - - It will be another light week for the Ball State track & field team which will send its throwers to Friday's Knight Open hosted by Marian University.

The day-long competition begins at 11:30 a.m. with action in the field events at St. Vincent Field in Indianapolis, Indiana. The meet is set to conclude shortly after 7 p.m.

Ball State is sending five student-athletes to the meet, with two competitors entered in each the hammer, shot put and discus.
Â
Freshman Princess Carter will compete in a pair of events for the Cardinals, as she enters the week ranked 17th in the MAC in the discus (41.58m) and 22nd in the hammer (39.84m).
Â
Carter will be joined in the discus by senior Adrienne Mayfield who ranks 26th in the league in the event at 37.82m. Sophomore Megan Graves will be Ball State's other competitor in the hammer, ranking 27th on the MAC performance list at 35.88m.

Ball State's shot put duo is led by sophomore Kelsey Walters who ranks ninth on the MAC performance list at 13.70m. She will be joined by freshman Jada Caldwell who is 16th in the league at 12.60m.
