Men's Tennis Drops Last MAC Regular Season Match To Buffalo, 5-2

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team (14-10, 3-4 MAC) fell to the defending Mid-American Conference champion Buffalo (12-9, 5-2 MAC) by a score of 5-2 Sunday afternoon at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.
Buffalo started off strong in today's match after taking the doubles point from the Cardinals. The Bulls Hao Shen Koay alongside partner Villhelm Fridell beat Marko Guzina and Conner Andersen by a score of 6-2 on court two. The No. 1 doubles tandem of Vidit Vaghela and Petr Vodak then clinched the point at one doubles, 6-3.
In singles action, the Bulls would take wins from the Cardinals on courts four, three and one for the victory. Ball State earned its first point of the day after Nemanja Guzina took down Fridell 6-4, 7-6 (6) at the number two singles position. Nemanja Guzina ended the weekend 2-0 in MAC play. Bryce Bonin also won for the Cardinals today at the No. 6 position with his three set thriller over Vaghela.
Despite the loss, the Ball State men's tennis team will play at the 2018 Mid-American Conference Tournament as the No. 4 seed next weekend. The Cardinals take on top seeded Western Michigan in Buffalo, New York. First serve is slated for 10 a.m. Friday.
