Amendola will be one of four freshmen on next year’s BSU roster
MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State women's golf team has added to its incoming class with the commitment of Naples, Florida, native Elizabeth Amendola to join the Cardinals in the fall.
Amendola is a product of the Community School of Naples and is an accomplished player at both the high school and junior levels.
"Elizabeth is a talented golfer and bright student," Ball State coach Katherine Mowat said. "She is passionate about the game of golf, and she is committed to becoming the best golfer and team player she can be. I know she will embrace the opportunities that come with being a DI athlete and that she has the skill set to have a positive impact on our program."
Amendola is a multi-talented high school athlete who only picked up competitive golf in 2015. During her junior year, she won her district championship and finished second in her regional to qualify for the state tournament. As a senior, she finished runner-up in her district and third in the region.
Amendola is a veteran of various junior tours, including the Florida Junior Tour (FJT), Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) and South Florida PGA Junior Tour (SFLPGA). Among her highlights was a tie for sixth at the FJT event in Fort Myers, Florida, in late 2017. She also competed in a strong international field at the American Junior Golf Association's Evian International & Senior Showcase in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she placed 22nd.
With the addition of Amendola, the Cardinals will welcome four new faces next fall. She will join Dylann Armstrong (North Gower, Ontario/South Carleton HS), Morgan Lewis (Fishers, Ind./Fishers HS) and Hadley Moritz (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South HS) as BSU freshmen.
Amendola is an honor student and has been accepted into Ball State's pre-veterinary program. She has also competed in volleyball, swimming and lacrosse.
