Kim’s Season-Best Finish Paces Women’s Golf at Purdue

Cardinals now turn attention to this week’s MAC Championships
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Ball State women's golf team wrapped up the Lady Boilermaker Invitational in sixth place Sunday on the Ackerman-Allen Course.
Liz Kim and Manon Tounalom led the Cardinals with rounds of 78 (+6) on the final day of Purdue's six-count-four event.
Kim held steady in a tie for 13th place as Ball State's top finisher with a total of 229 (+13) over the 54-hole event. It was the best finish of the year for the freshman from Dublin, Ohio.
Texas Tech (+8) held onto its overnight lead to win by eight strokes over No. 1 Purdue (+16). Augusta (+36) finished a distant third. All three of those teams are ranked among the top 75 in the country.
Ball State finished the event with a three-round total of 949 (+85) after closing with a round of 319.
Texas Tech's Gabby Barker (-3) ended the tournament five strokes clear of the field to claim individual medalist honors.
The Lady Boilermaker Classic was Ball State's final tuneup for the MAC Championships. The Cardinals will compete Friday through Sunday at Naperville Country Club in Illinois.
