Women’s Golf Finishes Sixth at MAC Championships

Tounalom posts top-15 individual finish to lead Cardinals
NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The Ball State women's golf team moved up one spot on the final day of the Mid-American Conference Championships to finish in a tie for sixth place.
On a challenging day with the average score near 80 at Naperville Country Club, Sydney Anderson led Ball State with a 77. The Cardinals also counted an 80 from Manon Tounalom, an 81 from Liz Kim and an 82 from Emily Knouff on the way to a team score of 320.
With a 54-hole total of 950 (+86), Ball State tied for sixth place with Western Michigan. Tounalom (+15) led the Cardinals in a tie for 15th. The Cardinals' top three finishers -- Tounalom, Knouff and Kim -- were freshmen or sophomores.
Kent State (-11), the nation's 16th-ranked team, won its 20th straight league championship with a 57-stroke victory over second-place Toledo (+46). Northern Illinois (+59) took third.
Pimnipa Panthong (-8) of Kent State claimed individual medalist honors, finishing six shots clear of teammate and defending champion Michaela Finn (-2).
