Gymnastics Falls to Eastern Michigan

MUNCIE, Ind.,-- The Ball State Cardinals fell to the Eastern Michigan Eagles 194.225-191.950 Sunday during senior day. The team moves to 3-2 in the Mid-American Conference.
"The team did not do what they set out to do today," head coach Joanna Saleem said. "Despite our disappointing loss there were some individual highlights. Maddie Macdonald notched a 9.900 on vault and Jordyn Penny led the bar squad with a 9.800."
The Cardinals started the competition strong on vault with a team total of 48.950. Maddie Macdonald stood first with a new personal record on vault scoring a 9.900. Clare Collins claimed second place with a personal best score of 9.800. Arden Hudson, Sydney Finke, and Bri Slonim landed in third place with scores of 9.750.
On bars Jordyn Penny notched second place with a 9.800. Jackie Duffy landed in fifth with a 9.700.
The team continued to beam where Jordyn Penny stood third with a 9.800 and Baylee Bell in fourth with a 9.775.
On floor Baylee Bell claimed second place with a score of 9.775.Â
"I'm proud of some of our individual performances," Saleem stated. "But the team needs to come together with week and prepare mentally for next weekend."
