Sydney Anderson returns to site of first collegiate victory
The Ball State women's golf team will defend its title this week at Eastern Kentucky's annual Colonel Classic at the University Club at Arlington.
The Cardinals are part of a 15-team field in Richmond, Kentucky, for the event that features 36 holes Friday and the final round Saturday.
Ball State won last year's Colonel Classic by 13 strokes, while Sydney Anderson finished atop the individual leaderboard for her first collegiate tournament title. The Cardinals have finished in the top four at EKU's event in each of their past five appearances.
Anderson is one of three members of last year's lineup competing again this week, joining Manon Tounalom and Morgan Nadaline. The BSU lineup also features freshmen Liz Kim and Emily Knouff, while Holly Anderson will compete as an individual.
The field this week in Richmond also includes Akron, Austin Peay, Belmont, Dayton, Kentucky, Oakland, Ohio, Tennessee Tech, Toledo, Western Carolina, Western Kentucky, ULM and Xavier.
The first round is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start Friday. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
