Men's Tennis Takes Down Toledo 5-2 In MAC Action Saturday

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team (12-5, 2-1 MAC) took down Toledo (3-12, 0-3 MAC) by a score of 5-2 in Mid-American Conference action Saturday afternoon at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
Chris Adams teammed up with Tom Carney for a quick win at three doubles over Toledo's Serjen Olmedo and Juan Carranza to start today's competition for Ball State. Nemanja Guzina and Collin Rigney then fed off of Adams and Carney's victory and would soon take a 6-3 decision against the Rockets Stephen Miller and Danilo Vukotic on the top court. Nemanja Guzina's and Rigney's win clinched the doubles point for Ball State to give the Cardinals the early 1-0 advantage heading into singles play.
Ball State carried its momentum into singles action quickly earning wins on courts six and three in straight sets to push the Cardinals lead to 3-0. After that, Toledo took the victory at No. 4 singles to make the score 3-1. It didn't take the Cardinals long after that to clinch the match. Chris Adams claimed the fourth point that Ball State would need to defeat Toledo with his 6-3, 6-2 win over Reid Teatsorth at the No. 5 position. Marko Guzina finished his match off strong with his 6-2, 7-5 take down over Thawin Suksathaporn at number two singles.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues Mid-American Conference action when it faces Northern Illinois for the second time this season in DeKalb Saturday, March 31 at 2 p.m.
