Women’s Tennis Sweeps MAC Weekly Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Ball State women's tennis team swept this week's Mid-American Conference Weekly honors. Sarah Swiderski earned singles tennis player of the week while teammates Julia Sbircea and Isabelle Dohanics claimed doubles team of the week accolades.
Swiderski went 2-0 in last week's spring break trip for the Cardinals in Georgia. She began the week with a 6-3, 6-4 take down over Kennesaw State's Kennedy Craig at the No. 2 position helping Ball State earn a 6-1 victory over the Owls. She then closed the week out with a 6-4, 2-6, 16-14, victory on court two over Mercer's Celine Schepers. Swiderski helped the Cardinals to a 6-1 win over Mercer and a 2-0 spring break slate for the week.
In doubles play, Sbircea and Dohanics paired up on the top court for the Cardinals in last week's spring break competition in Georgia. The twosome went 2-0 posting wins over Kennesaw State and Mercer. Dohanics and Sbircea started the week off with a 6-5 win over Kennesaw State's Alexandra Mercado and Jessica Cantrell before closing the week with a 6-4 victory against Mercer. The No. 1 doubles tandem helped the Cardinals defeat both teams 6-1.
The Ball State tennis team continues spring action when it plays at Dayton Friday, March 16 at 1 p.m.
