Men's Tennis Sweeps Doubleheader Over IU Southeast

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team improved to 5-1 on the season after sweeping its doubleheader over IU Southeast Saturday in the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
The Cardinals started both matches off strong, taking the doubles point from Grenadiers. In the first match, Collin Rigney paired up with Chris Adams and clinched the point for Ball State at the No. 2 position, winning their match 6-2. The Cardinals swept all three doubles matches in the night cap over IU Southeast. Rigney clinched the point again but with a different doubles partner, Khamasi Muhiga with the 6-2 victory at the No. 2 spot.
In singles play, Ball State took all six from the Grenadiers in straight sets in their first meeting. Thibault de Negri, Conner Andersen, Rigney and Tom Carney did not give up a game in one of their sets against their respective opponents.Â
The Cardinals closed the day winning all six singles matches in the second match over IU Southeast, all decided by straight sets.Â
The Ball State men's tennis team returns home Saturday, Feb. 10 when it hosts Cleveland State. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. in the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
