About the Cardinals                                     Â
• Ball State welcomes MAC co-leader Toledo for the second meeting between the teams this season. The Cardinals are the most recent team to defeat the Rockets -- handing them a 75-63 loss three weeks ago on the road -- and one of only two league teams to beat them this year.
Â
• Saturday marks the first of three straight at home and five straight against MAC West Division opponents. The Cardinals are 12-1 at home this season and 36-12 over the past three years. BSU is 3-2 against the West Division this season and 19-6 over the past three years.
Â
• Ball State is 5-1 over the past six games after winning Tuesday at Akron for the first time since 2001. Currently third in the overall league race, the Cardinals are coming off their two best shooting efforts in MAC play -- 56.7 percent versus Kent State and 55.4 percent at Akron.
Â
• Over the past six contests, Ball State big men Trey Moses and Tahjai Teague have combined to average 34.8 points and 19.8 rebounds per game.
Â
• Teague, whose career high was 19 points until six games ago, has scored 20-or-more points four times since then. He is averaging 16.5 points and 10.0 rebounds over the past six, and that includes the Feb. 3 game at Eastern Michigan when he went scoreless with four rebounds.
Â
• Moses is leading Ball State in conference play in both scoring (14.9 ppg) and rebounding (9.3 rpg). He has scored a career-high 22 points three times in the past six games.
Â
• Senior guard Sean Sellers needs just three 3-pointers to equal Jesse Berry's Ball State career record of 224. Sellers has made at least one 3 in every game but two this season and is shooting 43.5 percent from beyond the arc in conference play.
Â
Scouting Toledo             Â
• Toledo is tied for the overall MAC lead and holds a three-game lead in the West Division. The Rockets' only league losses are to Buffalo and Ball State. UT is No. 72 in the NCAA RPI.
• In league play, the Rockets are shooting 48.4 percent from the floor and leading the conference at 41.2 percent from 3-point range.
• Toledo is scoring 81.8 points per game in conference play and winning games by an average of 9.6 points (second in both only to Buffalo).
• The Rockets features the league's second-leading scorer in MAC play in Colorado transfer Tre'Shaun Fletcher (20.1 ppg) and the No. 5 player on that list in Jaelan Sanford (17.8).
• Toledo is playing its eighth season under head coach Tod Kowalczyk, who has guided the Rockets to three postseasons in the past six years.
Â
Series History   Â
• Toledo holds a 48-44 advantage in the all-time series, while Ball State is 28-16 against the Rockets in Muncie.
• Ball State has won four of the past five meetings, including the last three in a row.
• The Cardinals earned a 75-63 win Jan. 30 at Toledo in the first meeting this year behind double-doubles from Tahjai Teague and Trey Moses.
