Women’s Tennis Takes Five Wins In Singles At WMU Super Challenge

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Ball State women's tennis team is competing in its last fall tournament at the Western Michigan University Super Challenge this weekend. The Cardinals wrapped up day one action with five singles and three doubles victories.
Isabelle Dohanics along with teammates Audrey Berger and Rebecca Herrington, each took down their respective opponents in straight sets. Lilya Hadab earned a three set thriller over Western Michigan's Taylor Smith (2-6, 6-2, 6-4). Peyton Gollhofer recorded a win over Big Ten foe Indiana's Somer Henry. Gollhofer would drop the first set by a score of 3-6 but battled back in sets two (6-0) and three (6-3) to take the match from the Hoosiers.
In doubles action, the Ball State twosome of Berger and Dohanics beat Indiana's duo of Jelly Bozovic and Anna McCoy, 6-3. Gollhofer alongside Victoria Sec claimed a 6-3 win over Cleveland State's Isabelle Spindler and Blanch Lenoan. Golfer and Sec improved to 2-0 on the day after registering a 7-5 defeat against the Hoosiers Somer Henry and Michelle McKamey.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues play at the WMU Super Challenge Saturday at 10 a.m.
