Stuteville Named MAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Week
October 25, 2018 | Soccer
CLEVELAND, Ohio. – Ball State University soccer goalkeeper Tristin Stuteville was named Mid-American Conference Female Scholar Athlete of the Week on Thursday morning (Oct. 25).
Stuteville has already graduated with her undergraduate degree and currently holds a 4.0 GPA while working on a Masters in Athletics Coaching Education.
The fifth-year senior continues to lead what has been a dominant Ball State defense of late, guiding the Cardinals to six straight wins. Over the team's current six-game winning streak, Stuteville has tallied four shutouts and held the opposition to a 0.33 goals-per-game average.
Last week, she went 2-0 in goal to guide the Cardinals to road wins at Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan. Stuteville tallied three saves against the Chippewas, and three saves and a clean sheet against the Eagles.
The Kansas City native now has seven shutouts on the year and needs just three more to become the program's single-season leader in that category. In addition, her 12 career shutouts are tied for fifth in program history with Aubrey Buehler (2010-12). Stuteville has played a key part in the Cardinals climbing the MAC standings to number two, and anchored the defense that owns the longest active winning streak in the MAC.
Stuteville and the Cardinals will be in action on Thursday (Oct. 25) against the Miami RedHawks at 3:00 p.m. ET.
