Women’s Golf Wraps up Fall Season at Cardinal Cup

SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. -- No. 20 Illinois cruised to a 19-shot victory this weekend at Louisville's Cardinal Cup, where the Ball State women's golf team closed out its fall schedule.
The Illini finished with a 54-hole total of 863 (-1) at the University of Louisville Golf Club. Maryland (+18) took second, and tournament host Louisville (+19) was third. The event featured 10 of the top 100 teams in the Golfstat rankings.
Ball State finished 14th with a score of 975. Manon Tounalom and Liz Kim tied for 64th place to lead the Cardinals. Tounalom and Hadley Moritz carded 75's in Sunday's final round for the best scores of the weekend by BSU players.
Tristyn Nowlin of Illinois claimed medalist honors at 6 under par, finishing six strokes clear of three players tied for second.
With its fall schedule in the books, Ball State will return to action Feb. 7-8 when it hosts the Ball State Sunshine Invitational at Lake Jovita in Dade City Florida.
