Knouff Leads Women’s Golf on Day One in Noblesville

Cardinals will enter Monday’s final round in 11th place
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- Emily Knouff made six birdies and played the par-3's in 2 under par over her two rounds Sunday to pace the Ball State women's golf team on day one at The Fall Preview.
The Cardinals posted team scores of 308 and 310 at Purgatory Golf Club, site of next spring's Mid-American Conference Championships. They are in 11th place with one round to play.
Toledo (-2) and Xavier (-1) are dueling it out at the top of the leaderboard, 19 shots clear of the rest of the 12-team field. The Musketeers fired the low round of the day, a 4-under-par 284, in the afternoon to climb within one of the Rockets.
Toledo's Natcha Daengpiem leads the way at 7 under par and will take a four-shot advantage into Monday in the race for medalist honors.
Knouff (+7) carded rounds of 75 and 76 to finish the day as the top Ball State player on the leaderboard in a tie for 26th. Manon Tounalom (+8), whose second-round 74 was BSU's low score of the day, and Liz Kim (+9) are right behind her.
Monday's final round is slated for a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
