MUNCIE, Ind. – The 14th ranked Ball State men's volleyball team begins its 2018 campaign with Lees-McRae College and Emmanuel College this weekend. The Cardinals will host Lees-McRae on Friday, Jan. 5 at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Jan. 6, Ball State welcomes Emmanuel College to Worthen Arena.
Last season, the Cardinals finished with a 19-10 record and a 9-7 mark in conference action. Ball State was ranked in the top 15 all of last season with their final ranking being 12.
Ball State lost six seniors to graduation, but welcome eight exciting newcomers to the mix. The Cardinals are also returning three seniors, two juniors, and seven sophomores, including two preseason All-MIVA team honorees Matt Walsh and Matt Szews.
Ball State was voted 14th among all Division I and Division II schools in the America Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) preseason national rankings and third in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) preseason poll.
