- Ball State women's basketball team suffered an 84-80 loss to Mid-American Conference East Division leader Buffalo Saturday afternoon in Worthen Arena. It was the Cardinals only second loss of the season. Senior forward Destiny Washington had a dominant performance leading the Cardinals with 17 points after shooting 60 percent (6-of-10) from the field. Junior guard Carmen Grande recorded her sixth double-double of the season and 11th of her career after scoring 14 points while dishing out 11 assists.
- Ball State's 14-2 record is the best start in program history.
- The Cardinals remain one of 11 teams nationally that have suffered only two losses. The Cardinals have received votes in both the USA

- Power 5 conference wins over - Vanderbilt (88-79) and Purdue (66-60). Along with wins over Big East opponent Butler (87-75) and Conference USA Western Kentucky (93-81).
- Ball State ended its non-conference season 11-0 and at the time was only one of seven teams nationally that were still undefeated and one of two non Power 5 teams on the list.
- Ball State has scored at least 80-plus points in 10 out of its 15 games.
- Ball State ranks 39th nationally in the latest RPI which is the second highest ranking of any team in the Mid-American Conference.
- Ball State has three wins over top 100 RPI Teams - Purdue (41 RPI), Western Kentucky (46) and Butler (76).
- Junior guard Carmen Grande ranks second nationally in assists per game (9.6 apg) and second in total assists (153).
- The 11 straight non-conference wins marked the second largest win streak in program history (12 in 2008-09 which included win over Tennessee in the NCAA Tournament).
- Senior forward Moriah Monaco has scored double figures 69 times so far for her career at Ball State including all but one this season.
- Toledo holds a 12-5 record heading into Wednesday's game and a 3-2 mark in MAC play. The Rockets have won two-straight after defeating Ohio on Jan. 10 by a score of 75-57 and then closed out the week with a 63-60 victory over Northern Illinois Saturday. Both games were played in John F. Savage Arena. Toledo and Ball State played two common opponents during non-conference action, Cleveland State and Western Kentucky. The Rockets defeated the Vikings (65-56) but fell to the Lady Toppers (70-56). The Cardinals went 2-0 against Cleveland State (76-64) and Western Kentucky (93-81).
- Wednesday's game against Toledo will mark the 78th time in program history the two schools have met with the Rockets leading the all-time series, 47-30. The Cardinals dropped their last meeting against the Rockets on their senior day game last season in overtime, 76-66 on March 4. Ball State had won at Toledo in its league opener, 51-45, on Dec. 31 last year. Prior to last season, the Cardinals had swept the series over the Rockets in 2015-16 and 2014-15.
- Toledo is paced by Kaayla McIntyre, who averages 15.0 points per game, behind McIntyre is Jay-Ann Bravo-Harriott who is currently averaging 12.1 ppg. Mikaela Boyd rounds out the double digit scoring with 10.9 points per contest.
- The Rockets are led by head coach Tricia Cullop who is in her 10th season at Toledo. She owns a 337-211 (.615).
