Women’s Tennis Ends Competition At Cincinnati Invitational

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Ball State women's tennis team wrapped up action at the Cincinnati Invitational Saturday at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center.
The Cardinals opened the day with doubles competition where Ball State took two of the three matches from Cincinnati. Peyton Gollhofer teamed up with Isabelle Dohanics to earn a 7-5 take down over Ioana Guna and Ali Miller. The doubles tandem of Rebecca Herrington and Audrey Berger then defeated Emma Miceli and Caroline Morton by a score of 6-4.
Ball State closed the day with two singles matches against Xavier and Illinois-Chicago. Herrington went 2-0 in single play, first earning a straight set victory over the Musketeers' Kaitlin Ruether, 7-5, 6-3. Herrington then ended the invite on a high note with a 6-4, 6-2 defeat against the Flames' Stefana Vasic. Newcomer Sarah Swiderski also grabbed a win over Illinois-Chicago after beating Lejla Colic, 7-6 (5), 6-2.
The Ball State women's tennis team will resume fall action Oct. 12-16 when it plays at the ITA Regionals, which will be hosted by Middle Tennessee State University.
