Blanco & Gollhofer Earn All-MAC First And Second Team Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Senior Carmen Blanco and sophomore Peyton Gollhofer of the Ball State women's tennis team have earned All-MAC first and second team accolades, respectively.
Blanco earned first team All-MAC honors for the first time in her career. She earned All-MAC second team accolades last season. Blanco led the team in league victories this season with a 7-1 mark. She has mainly played at the No. 1 singles position 14 times for the Cardinals this spring, going 9-5.
Gollhofer was named second team All-MAC for the first time but was tabbed to the first team in 2016. She has played on both the top two courts this season in dual action with a combined 11-6 mark. Gollhofer owns a, 5-2, conference record at the No. 2 spot in the lineup. She also clinched the win over Akron last week for the Cardinals after her three set thriller at No. 2 singles to give Ball State its back-to-back MAC regular season title.
Gollhofer also has teamed up with Blanco at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, finishing league action with a 6-1 ledger.
The Ball State women's tennis team (20-2, 8-0 MAC) is set to compete as the No. 1 seed at the 2017 Mid-American Conference Tournament Saturday in Muncie, Ind. The tournament will be hosted by the Cardinals and will take on No. 4 Miami or No. 5 Northern Illinois at 10 a.m. Ball State defeated the RedHawks by a score of 4-3, on April 14. The Cardinals beat the Huskies, 6-1, on March 26.
