Men’s Golf Sixth after 36 Holes at Ohio State

Johnny Watts leads Cardinals in 17th place individually

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ball State men's golf team positioned itself in sixth place after a long 36-hole day Saturday at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate.
The Cardinals posted a team score of 606 (+38) with rounds of 304 and 302. They are tied for sixth place with Penn State, one of three top-50 squads in the field of 15 MAC and Big Ten teams.
No. 12 Kent State leads the way at 579 (+11), one shot clear of No. 10 Illinois. The Golden Flashes' Chase Johnson holds the individual lead at 2 over par.
It was a challenging day on the Scarlet Course at Ohio State University Golf Club with the average score for the field slightly higher than 77.
Johnny Watts carded rounds of 76 and 73 to lead Ball State in 17th place at 149 (+7). Timothy Wiseman, who led the team with a 73 in the opening round, is 32nd at 152 (+10).
Colin Proctor (42nd), Michael VanDeventer (48th) and Michael Makris (53rd) round out the Ball State lineup.
The third and final round will be played Sunday with Ball State's tee times starting at 8:45 a.m. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
