VanDeventer Named MAC Co-Golfer of the Week

Junior posted his first collegiate victory at the EY Memorial
MUNCIE, Ind. -- For his victory at the Earl Yestingsmeier Memorial Invitational, Ball State junior Michael VanDeventer has been named one of three Mid-American Conference Co-Golfers of the Week.

VanDeventer earned his first collegiate win, coming from five shots back entering the final round to share medalist honors with Alec Dutkowski of Taylor. His 2-under-par total of 208 for the tournament ranks sixth on Ball State's all-time list of 54-hole scores.

The Columbus, Indiana, product closed with the lowest final round of any player in the field, a career-best 67. He made an eagle and three birdies en route to a front-nine 31 to charge to the top of the leaderboard.

VanDeventer led Ball State to a runner-up finish in the field of 13 teams at Delaware Country Club. The Cardinals will return to action this weekend with the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate on the Scarlet Course at Ohio State University Golf Club.

VanDeventer owns a 73.46 stroke average and three top-10 finishes for the year. He shares this week's MAC honor with Kent State's Bjarki Petursson who won the Boilermaker Invitational, and Ohio's Peyton White who won the Rutherford Intercollegiate.
