Watts’ 69 Leads Men’s Golf on Final Day at Vanderbilt

FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- Johnny Watts led the Ball State men's golf team with a 2-under-par 69 in Sunday's final round at the Mason Rudolph Championship.
The Cardinals also counted a 73 from Michael VanDeventer, a 75 from Timothy Wiseman and an 80 from Colin Proctor in a final-round 297. Ball State finished the 54-hole event in 14th place with a total of 901 (+49) on the South Course at the Vanderbilt Legends Club.
Sixth-ranked Florida (-30) overtook Alabama (-29) by one stroke to win the event. Tournament host and third-ranked Vanderbilt (-26) finished third. The tournament featured eight teams ranked among the top 75 in the country.
Florida's Sam Horsfield claimed individual medalist honors at 11 under, two shots clear of Alabama's Josh Sedeno.
Wiseman led Ball State with a tie for 49th at 9 over par for the tournament.
The Cardinals will return to action April 14-15, hosting the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational at Delaware Country Club.
