The Cardinals posted a 36-hole total of 720 (+20) Friday in the play-six-count-five tournament at Delaware Country Club. BSU is six shots behind Eastern Kentucky (+14) with Saturday's final round still to play.
Ball State, which led the 13-team field with 39 birdies on the day, jockeyed back and forth with Eastern Kentucky in the afternoon round. The Cardinals took the lead early before the Colonels regained control.
