Soccer Breezes Past Tiffin 6-0

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Shannon Greeley and Sam Kambol scored twice each as the Ball State soccer team continued its spring season Saturday with a 6-0 win over Tiffin.

Julia Elvbo scored the game's opening goal, and Lauren Lerew added a score. The Cardinals, who defeated Butler in their first game, improved to 2-0 for the spring.

"Overall, the girls did well," Ball State coach Craig Roberts said. "We implemented a different system than we did against Butler, and I felt we got a lot of gains out of that."

Ball State posted its second shutout of the spring, severely limiting any offensive chances for Tiffin. The Cardinals adjusted their back line with two-time MAC Defensive Player of the Year Lorina White gone to train with the Orlando Pride.

"We had to change the setup of our defensive system," Roberts said. "Yela stepped into Lorina's position and played exceptionally well. I was very pleased with her performance back there along with Taylor Pooley and Alessandra Fistrovich at right back, which was new for her."

The Cardinals will continue their spring schedule Sunday, March 26 at 1 p.m. against Wright State at the Briner Sports Complex.
