
Ball State to Host Central Michigan Sunday

MUNCIE, Ind. -- After a setback total of 194.175 against eastern rivals George Washington (196.400), New Hampshire (196.075) and Towson (194.950) at the Nation's Capital, the Ball State gymnastics team looks forward to the Pink Meet with Mid-American Conference opponent Central Michigan, Sunday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. EST in Worthen Arena.
"The team is preparing for Central with a lot of hard work and focus in the gym," head coach Joanna Saleem said. "We need to make sure our mindset is where it needs to be before we go out onto the floor on Sunday. I know that the team wants to perform well this weekend. They are putting in the work to make sure they walk into the arena and do solid gymnastics."

Last weekend the Cardinals started on floor where Shelby Arms and Sarah Ebeyer led the team with 9.800 and 9.825 showings.
On vault Bri Slonim landed in fourth place with a career high score of 9.850. Ebeyer followed in sixth place with a 9.825.
On bars, Jordyn Penny scored a 9.825 claiming third place. Jillian Hacker and Kayla Beckler tied for sixth place with scores of 9.800, for Hacker this notes a personal best performance.
Going into the final event the Cardinals fought Towson for third place with a tied team score of 146.425. Junior, Baylee Bell stuck her dismount, landing her in first place with a score of 9.875 and earning her a new career high.Â
"The Mid-American Conference is really competitive," Saleem stated. "Each school is doing really well this year, and in order for Ball State to be successful in MAC competition we have to make sure we are ready to compete and are focused when we walk out onto the competition floor."
The team will travel to Bowling Green Saturday, Feb. 18 at 4:00 p.m. EST to take on the Falcons at the Anderson Arena.
