Opening Tip
• Ball State visits Toledo for the second meeting between the teams this season. The Cardinals defeated the Rockets 81-80 in Muncie on Jan. 31 behind near double-doubles from sophomore point guard Tayler Persons (26 points, 8 assists) and senior forward Franko House (19 points, 9 rebounds).

• The Cardinals are tied for the MAC West Division lead with Western Michigan, while Toledo is one game behind them. BSU is seeking a second straight division championship after sharing last year's title with Central Michigan.

• Ball State is part of a four-way tie for the No. 3 spot in the overall league standings with Buffalo, Western Michigan and Kent State. The Cardinals would currently be the No. 6 seed for the tournament based on tiebreakers.

• Ball State is coming off an 80-55 loss at Western Michigan, snapping the team's three-game winning streak. Persons (15 points) and House (13) led the way in scoring.

• Toledo has won four of its past six games, including an 87-66 victory over Central Michigan over the weekend. Jonathan Williams leads the Rockets at 19.8 points per game, while Steve Taylor Jr. averages 15.7 points and 12.4 rebounds.

• When he steps on the floor Tuesday, House will take sole possession of second place on Ball State's career games played list at 125, surpassing Robert Owens (2000-04). Mike Spicer (1988-92) holds the school record with 126 games played.

• Persons has scored double figures in 24 of Ball State's 29 games this season and 14 of 16 games in conference play. With 457 points on the year, Persons ranks sixth on Ball State's all-time scoring chart for sophomores. He is approaching Larry Bullington (462) for fifth on the list and Peyton Stovall (467) for fourth.
